FSH Midstream Test

FSH Test is intended used for qualitative detection of FSH (Follicular stimulating hormone) un female urine as in aid of diagnosis of menopause. It is based upon the principle of Immunochromatography, a two-site immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. Each test contains a strip composed with absorbent pad, nitrocellulose membrane, conjugate pad and sample pad. The nitrocellulose membrane is coated with test line protein at ‘T’ region and control line protein at ‘C’ region. When a urine specimen containing FSH is applied on the sample pad area, it reacts with colloidal gold conjugated with anti FSH and makes an immune complex. The complex flows laterally on the nitrocellulose membrane where it is immobilized by the anti-FSH coated on the test line region ‘T’ on the nitrocellulose membrane leading to the formation of a pink / purple colored line which confirms a positive test result. The control line serves as an internal control to validate the test results. Additional reference line has been added in the test.
