LH Test is based upon the principle of Immunochromatography, a two-site immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. Each test contains a strip composed with absorbent pad, nitrocellulose membrane, conjugate pad and sample pad. The nitrocellulose membrane is coated with test line protein at ‘T’ region and control line protein at ‘C’ region. When a urine specimen containing LH is applied on the sample pad area, it reacts with colloidal gold conjugated with anti LH and makes an immune complex. The immune complex flows laterally on the nitrocellulose membrane where it is immobilized by the anti-LH coated on the test line region ‘T’ on the nitrocellulose membrane leading to the formation of a pink / purple colored line which confirms a positive test result or LH surge. The control line serves as an internal control to validate the test results. Additional reference line may be added optionally in the test for clear interpretation of LH Surge.
